Humility and Pride

Luke 9:46-48, “An argument started among them as to which of them might be the greatest. But Jesus, knowing what they were thinking in their heart, took a child and stood him by His side, and said to them, ‘Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great.’”

Jesus never sought his own glory, but always sought the glory of the Father,
”For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me,” John 6:38.

He was therefore greatly glorified by the Father,
”[A]nd behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased,” Matthew 3:17.

Moses was called the most humble man on earth,
“(Now the man Moses was very humble, more than any man who was on the face of the earth.),” Numbers 12:3.

He is greatly glorified in scripture,
“Not so, with My servant Moses, He is faithful in all My household,” Numbers 12:7.

Those who glorify themselves, the Father will humble, those who humble themselves, the Father will glorify,
”God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble,” 1 Peter 5:5.

When a glass is full, can anything further be poured into it?  If we are filled with pride and arrogance, what place is there for the Lord and His ways?
